Midsummer 2026
How does it work?
In many of the areas where students settle, there are Resident clubs, also called councils of trust or housing associations. These are non-profit associations consisting of students who work to promote the housing situation in their area. This can involve maintaining contact with the landlord, buying furniture for the common rooms or holding activities for the residents in the area. The housing councils are mostly financed by Kombo through grants and a request fund that also finances requests for midsummer.
Kårservice works to actively support the formation of additional housing councils in Norrköping and Linköping and to activate those that are currently inactive.
Not all areas have active associations, for those who have active associations this year, we have specifically budgeted money for midsummer celebrations in Linköping and Norrköping. That is, if you are a group that is still in your student city and wants to put together a midsummer celebration. In other words, you can have your midsummer celebration financed by KOMBO.
Who can apply for money for Midsummer?
In Norrköping, residents of Gripen and Vattentornet can apply for Midsummer celebrations.
Gripens boråd (Studentbo)
Vattentornet (HSB)
In Linköping, residents of Ryd can apply for Midsummer celebrations through both Studentbostäder and Heimstaden (Their student accomodations only). Other areas such as Flamman and Vallastaden only apply if you are a tenant at Studentbostäder. For Irrblosset this year, unfortunately, the area may not have be able to get funding, as we're waiting for a new treasurer for the area who may be appointed during the summer. You can still submit an application that can be approved afterwards, provided that you purchased everything regardless.
Borådet på Ryds Allé (Heimstaden)
FR Flamman (Studentbostäder)
FR Irrblosset (Studentbostäder)
FR Ryd (Studentbostäder)
FR Vallastaden (Studentbostäder)
How do you make an application?
1. You need to be at least 3 people on an application
Generally, there are usually 3 people, specifically from the same residential area. But it is okay to mix between the different residential areas. For example, if 2 live at Studentbostäder in Ryd and one in Irrblosset. In this case, at least the person who is to receive the payment needs to be in an area that can apply according to the list above. But the others who are on the application can live anywhere as long as they have either Studentbostäder, Studentbo, Heimstadens studentbostäder in Linköping, HSB (Vattentornet) as their landlord.
The entire application guide can be found here, including the form that you should submit.
2. Fill out the request form
When you are at least 3 people, you can start filling out the request form that can be found here.
In the form, you should fill out the list of what you plan to buy, you are welcome to link and write where you plan to buy, for example food or disposable barbecue or whatever you plan to buy for the Midsummer celebration. Fill in contact information, bank account and then who is responsible for the request, here you fill in at least the 3 people who are involved. If you are more than 3, please fill it in.
Remember to use common sense, the request fund is not infinitely large. When you choose goods that you want to buy, be reasonable in what will actually be needed and consumed on Midsummer and that it is not the most expensive thing there is. No alcohol can be financed through requests, but everything else can usually be financed. We would like more people to be able to afford to celebrate Midsummer, which is why this is organized.
If you have any questions, email bosocial@karservice.se
3. Send the application form to the Residents association in the area and Bosocial at Kombo

All applications that come in after June 12th will not be able to be approved before Midsummer. Depending on how many people apply, we may choose to partially finance all of them so that as many people as possible can benefit from the fund.
4. Send receipts to the housing association in the area and Bosocial at Kombo
As soon as you have purchased what you are applying for, you should send receipts in the same email thread as before. All payments for applications begin from the first week of July. Due to the holidays, payments cannot be made earlier than July. Some housing associations may choose to pay out earlier than July when they have a receipt, this is up to the Residents association to decide.
Minor discrepancies between the claim form and the receipts are okay, however, larger discrepancies, especially in price, will affect how much is paid out of the claim. We understand that if a product is out of stock on the day of purchase, we ask that you purchase an item at approximately the same price as a replacement item for the one you have claimed.
Once the receipts have been submitted, all you have to do is wait for the payment, which will come from the Residents association for your area.
