Start a recidents´club
Do you want to start a residents´ club?
It's easy to start a new residents´ club! Below is a list of what needs to be done before you can be classified as a residents association. It may seem like a lot, but if you do it all together it won't take more than a day.
Some residents´ clubs have lots of activities while others have, for example, a single party or request funding once a semester. Both variants are perfectly ok so there is no pressure that you have to do a lot of different things or that you have to get started quickly.
1. Contact KOMBO
Contact KOMBO to get advice and support from the beginning. We can, for example, help with information, both about KOMBO and about residents´ clubs, participate in the house meeting or make a contribution to coffee for the meeting. We are happy to answer all questions you may have!
2. Arrange a house meeting
Arrange a house meeting where you announce that the club will exist and what rules should apply. Here you and other residents can discuss the ambition for the residents’ clubs and other residents also get a chance to show an interest in joining the board. The rules you make will be the statutes for the residents´club

3. Apply for an organization number
Someone on the board, usually the chairman, must then contact the Swedish Tax Agency to register the association as a non-profit association and obtain an organization number. As a non-profit association, the residents’ club has an obligation to declare or provide special information , but this is usually not something complicated.
4. Establish a bank account
All residents’ clubs must have a bank account where KOMBO can pay the association grant and requests. Someone on the board arranges a bank account by bringing board meeting notes to the bank, stating the association's name, who is a part of the board and who is allowed to sign for the organization. Feel free to contact the bank before and find out what you need to bring.
5. Establish goals
When the administrative matters are cleared, the board needs to think about what the residents club should have as a goal with the business. Feel free to start small with one or two things and see how it goes.
